What makes web sites so special is that they are the interface, or the intermediate, between people and networked computers. They provide access to files that are stored on a different computer than your own. These files could take any form as well.

The layout and the design of the wepage will depend on many factors. Advertising sites will have a very colorful attractive layout to encourage viewers to click on links and view their advertisement, whereas a site that provides information will have many features like suggestions and search bars to help users locate the information they are looking for. The second is the type of users that will be using the site most frequently. In the case of social networking sites, like Facebook, many links can be seen to make contact with people. Such webpages will encourage users to have more friends connected and to invite new friends as well.

Like every piece of art has a talented artist behind its every detail, each web site has a web designer who creates the web site from scratch. Taking in to account all the factors, a web designer must come up with the most suitable layout of the site in order to gain the highest possible number of user visits. Each and every text, video and picture should be done with a defined purpose.

The web designer is responsible for choosing the ideal font size, type etc to suit the purpose of the site. For an example an elderly person would prefer a slightly larger fonts. A theme is also a necessity for the webpage where it will create its uniqueness.

In recent years being a web designer has become much easier than it used to be. They don’t have to have fluency in HTML and etc to be successful. With the simple use of certain software tools web designing can be done in the comfort of one’s home.
