I Came Across Some Budget Oriented Summer Travel Ideas Not Long Ago!
Although the economy is in the tank, I figure we need to carve out some money for a little vacation once in awhile. I spent some time doing research to see if I can arrange a nice trip while saving money in the process. Based on my time spent on several travel sites, it seems that the major online websites all can find good travel deals if I can be a little flexible.
Basically, in addition to finding the best price for airfare, car rental and hotel, it is important that you to use a travel website that has a reputation for providing a trouble-free vacation. I can look for the best prices on airfare and hotel rooms, but if I find a travel destination where I can drive my own car, it might save me even more. Southern California certainly fits that description.
A lot of vacation ideas are provided at the SoCal Vacation Guru site. It focuses mainly on Orange County and Los Angeles County, but will eventually expand to provide more information on San Diego County and the Inland Empire desert and mountain areas as well. For local insight and wisdom about Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, beaches, shopping, dining and other activities, the SoCal Vacation Guru is a great source.
Did you know that there are actually seven world-class theme parks in the area, those being Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags, Universal Studios Hollywood, Legoland, SeaWorld and Disney’s California Adventure. If you love theme parks, it would be tempting to try and fit all seven into a very busy, and perhaps relatively expensive, vacation trip. This is probably a good time to take a vacation and find great deals on hotel reservations if your budget allows for it, as a lot of hotels and attractions are looking for business.
In slow economic times the theme parks tend to offer more discounts, as to the museums and other activities. Despite increases and fluctuations in gasoline prices, a driving trip to So Cal might well be a cheaper vacation option for many Americans than flying to another vacation destination.
