Blog Marketing Tips – the Top 3 Questions Everyone Asks About Blog Marketing


As I surf through the many Internet Marketing blogs, there are always the same 3 questions that are asked the most. What do I write about? How do I overcome writers block? How often should I post to my blog?

I will answer these questions and give you some great blog marketing tips that will grow your business.

1) What to write about? To answer this question, I will talk about my blog. My blog is basically about Internet marketing. I write about three different subjects, Internet marketing, email marketing and list building. The three of these go hand in hand with my theme. I will post about one of these subjects each day. If I have a lot to say about blog marketing, I might make two to three posts in 1 day.

If your blog is about dealing with seasonal depression you might want to talk about some tips to overcome this. Maybe make a post about changing the light bulbs in their house or putting up some bright, colorful pictures. You might want to give some tips that have helped you during those cold dreary days.

My point here is that there are many sub topics that relate to every topic. Let’s use dog grooming as an example. There is long and short fur, nail trimming, types of shampoo and brushes. Just think about everything that is slightly related to your topic. If you can’t think of something, ask a friend or family member what they think.

Your blog should be about whatever you are passionate about. If you are passionate about list building than making a blog post about what you do to build your list should come to you naturally.

2) How to overcome writers block? This is probably the easiest question to answer. Let’s use blog marketing for this example. To overcome writers block, do a Google search for blog marketing blogs and a search for blog marketing forums. Then you need to read through the posts. Are there any topics that continuously come up? Is there something posted there that you had not thought of?

You can also use Google alerts on your specific topics. You can get these alerts daily or weekly and you need to really read them. You can get some of your best blog posts from the ideas that pop into your head while reading the alerts.

3) How often should you make a blog post? If you want the search engines to take notice, you will want to post a minimum of once per day. If you can, you should do 1-2 posts per day for the first 3 months. After three months you can taper back to maybe every other day. You should never go longer than every other day!!!

You need to remember that you have a following and they are going to be expecting your next blog post.

Here is a little tip for you. Your blog should not be a sales page for lots of products. You need your blog to be full of useful information. If you are selling products, just add some anchor text hear and there. You can also add a line after your signature pointing your followers to what might be of use to them.

Do not try to sell your followers on a product that is unrelated to your topic! Selling an Internet marketing product may not be appropriate for a Beautician.

When it comes to Internet marketing, blogs are the easiest way to generate trust and value with your followers.
